Back from a long hiatus after losing some of his closest friends and the birth of his twin girls, New York rapper Y.O. is back on his grind. The rapper reached out to Rap Music with his latest freestyle “Take It Easy”. The track samples Mad Lion’s classic record of the same title which rocked the New York hip-hop scene during the mid-90’s.
“Take It Easy” features fellow rapper Rich Quick. “I reached out to Rich Quick just because he is a real dude that’s on his grind as well. This Mad Lion record has always been a favorite of mine and I always wanted to add my verses.” Y.O. is currently putting together his latest project titled The World Made Me Do It Again.
“The World Made Me Do It Again is a follow up to The World Made Me Do It. It’s been four years since I dropped The World Made Me Do It because my three closest friends were killed within a year and a half of each other,” Y.O. shared “ I lost my partner in rhyme AP The New Era, my right hand Frankie Gunz and the voice in my ear that kept me going, Tray Snead.”
“Instead of throwing in the towel I got back in the studio and recorded a whole bunch of songs and got advice from major artists. I got inspired and the world made me do it again because of the state hip hop is in,” he added. “I like a lot of new artists but I grew up during the “golden era” so I set high standards. The project features Serius Jones, J-Hood, Max B, R&B singer Dominic and it’s produced entirely by DJ Daze. Look for it late spring.”
